destroy after reading

by Simon Alderwick

i don’t burn books but i
like to singe the edges in
my view words should
sprawl over the edge of
the page & white space
should be extinguished
a hungry flame that eats
silence leaves only words

Simon Alderwick lives between Wales and the Philippines. His poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Magma, Alchemy Spoon, Ink Sweat & Tears, Anthropocene, Poetry Salzburg, Acropolis, Poetry Lab Shanghai, London Grip, Eye Flash, and the Telegraph, among others.
